Clarity and stability before an FPS number
How to choose between performance, balance, and image quality.
The graphics profiles here are starting suggestions, not measurement results for your machine. Support for DLSS, Reflex, and frame generation depends on your hardware, the mode, and the update; PC and console menus differ.
Steps
- Set your goal: competition and responsiveness, balance, or story scenes.
- Start at native resolution, and change one option per test on the same scene.
- Try turning off motion blur and film grain so motion is clearer, then set shadows and detail to match performance.
- Test smart upscaling on Quality if it is supported, and compare the edges of targets and the performance.
- Record your lowest performance and how steady frame time stays, not average FPS alone. Compare frame generation after you measure the base frame rate.
Hint
If performance did not change after you lowered the resolution, do not assume that lowering image quality further will fix the cause.
