Make the game audio clearer than the clutter
Balance effects, chat, and music.
The best audio setup changes with your headset and with what feels comfortable. The settings section shows recommendations from an illustrated guide at launch, with a way to compare, instead of promising that you will hear every footstep better.
Steps
- Choose the correct output device, and try Stereo and Mono Off if that fits your needs.
- Lower the music and set effects relative to chat, then set the master volume so it is comfortable for your ears.
- Compare Audio Mix on the same scene. Home Theater is a suggested starting point, not a proven best choice for every headset.
- On Windows x64 we show the Khatwat program as an optional suggestion. On console, use the game’s settings and a supported headset.
- While you compare, do not stack more than one surround effect or a strong EQ.
Hint
If team voice covers the environment, adjust the chat balance first, before you raise the master volume.
